What’s New in the Mystery Series from Guideposts Books?
Since trying to keep up with a long-running mystery series can feel a little like joining a conversation halfway through, I want to catch you up on the newest releases in the multi-author mystery series from Guideposts Books, to which I’ve contributed.
Whether you’ve been following along for a while, or are just getting started, read on for the latest scuttlebutt.
I’ll highlight the newest releases in Mysteries of Cobble Hill Farm and introduce Gift Shop Mysteries, the new Guideposts series that began last month.
What readers can expect from the newest Cobble Hill Farm Mysteries
Welcome back to Cobble Hill Farm, where the mysteries are puzzling, the characters feel like old friends, and the animals are as likely to steal the scene as they are to cause it.
Readers can look forward to slipping right back into the charm of a place that’s equal parts cozy and chaotic. Many familiar faces return with their quirks, warmth, and secrets. And of course, it wouldn’t be Cobble Hill without a mystery (or two) to unravel. But nothing is ever quite as simple as it seems. As the stakes rise, so do the surprises to keep you guessing until the end of the story.

In book #20, Ruffled Feathers by Roseanna M. White, Harriet brushes up on her avian skills as she attempts to solve the mystery of the missing peregrine falcon and save its trainer’s fledgling aviary.
In book #21, A Pet Project by Stephanie Coleman, Harriet juggles helping to clear the name of her late Uncle Dom’s friend, while working as the lead vet at the local puffin festival.
Lastly, when life gets sticky, Harriet will learn just how sweet the truth can be.
In The Honeyed Truth by Sandra Orchard, book #22 in the series, Harriet faces more than a few bumps in the road—she’s dealing with a sudden chill from her once-close Aunt Jinny and a mystery buzzing through the local lavender farm. Honey production is mysteriously dropping, the petting farm animals are acting anything but charming, and something (or someone) is clearly up to no good.
With tensions rising and clues as elusive as a runaway goat, Harriet must untangle the mess before everything falls apart. But as she digs deeper, she discovers that healing relationships—and solving mysteries—requires a touch of patience and a whole lot of heart.

A Closer Look at Guideposts’ Newest Series – Gift Shop Mysteries
Set on the scenic shores of Lake Huron, the Gift Shop Mysteries invite readers into a charming small-town shop filled with keepsakes, curiosities, and a hint of intrigue. Cozy settings, engaging characters, and twists tucked into the most unexpected places, make this new series a perfect escape for cozy mystery lovers. Stop by the quaint gift shop and discover the secrets lingering beneath the surface.
The first book, A Gift in Time, by Shaen Layle came out last month. The second book, The Royal Code, by Beth Adams releases soon. For readers who like getting in at the beginning, this is the best time to jump aboard.
Readers can look forward to a wide variety of mysteries in this series. A gift shop is the kind of setting that invites stories. People come in looking for keepsakes, gifts to offer comfort, or to celebrate milestones or special occasions, or any number of other reasons.
What I like about a new series at this stage is how open it feels. The recurring cast is starting to take shape. And the readers get to watch the foundations go in while the books are still introducing the world.
My own contribution, A Rare Bird, comes later as book 14, giving me a different kind of excitement as I follow these early releases. Early books lay the track. Later books get to build on that trust.
Final Thoughts
Following a series over time is a lot of fun. You not only get to enjoy a new mystery with each new instalment. You get to revisit old friends and familiar places.
