Hi everyone. Yesterday, I spoke at two different libraries about my story ideas and on writing tips. It was a lot of fun. I met some wonderful readers and aspiring writers and a very nice young reporter who interviewed me afterward.
I love hearing from readers about what they enjoy reading, and I love encouraging new writers.
I’d planned to come home and write all about it…but I was “talked” out. Not to mention that I really wanted to spend time with my hubby, being Valentine’s Day and all!
He had a lovely bouquet of flowers delivered to me a day ahead of time since he knew I wouldn’t be around. What an inspiration he is for the romance writer in me. ~grin~
Your Turn: How did you spend your Valentine’s Day?
Glad you had a great day at the libraries!
Hubby and I had a nice romantic dinner and a box of chocolate.
Yum!
Wow — not you’ve whet my appetite! I want to know all about your library visits but I’ll whist.
My Valentine’s Day? Simba and I spent a lovely evening snoozing and reading and I went to bed at 8:00 p.m. What? You don’t think that’s exciting enough for a Valentine’s Day?
Ah, Kav, it sounds like a lovely way to spend the evening. 🙂
We had some great pre-discussion at my first library visit about the effect Ebooks are having on the publisher industry. My post Friday is a taste of the where-ideas-come-from side of then talk. Then I discussed how we evoke readers emotions and gave some examples.
We had a number of aspiring writers who asked lots of great questions. We even had an amazing Dad who came in his daughter’s stead, to take notes, because she wasn’t well enough to come. Now, there’s a book-worthy hero!
Oh my goodness, how fun! 🙂 And what a sweet hubs you have.
He’s the best! 🙂
My hubby and oldest son brought home a big bouquet of balloons and we had a yummy steak dinner here at home – no fighting the crowds. 🙂
Smart!
Spent the day at cardioligist office…check up for hub….report ok but stress test coming up!
We did enjoy a nice dinner in that town though.
Lovely! I’ll pray the stress test goes well!!
Hubby and I chose to spend Val D quietly at home since we had had a very busy weekend previous with company etc. I’ve done a few library talks myself. They are fun, aren’t they? (But can be draining …)
Oh, wow, yes, I didn’t realize how much until midway through yesterday morning!
What fun for you! And your husband is a keeper for sure.
We celebrated our 37th anniversary at a fancy restaurant, and I had yummy leftovers for breakfast and lunch yesterday!
