# 14 Gift Shop Mysteries

When the past sends an SOS, will Sarah have the courage and ingenuity to answer the call?

When Sarah comes into possession of an alabaster carving of a passenger pigeon, she thinks it’s merely an interesting antique oddity for her small-town gift shop. But a Morse code message carved into its base raises the specter of a century-old mystery: what happened to Arthur Gray, Port Huron’s railroad telegraph operator who vanished without a trace in 1913?

The mystery deepens when a weathered brick etched with the same initials, AG, surfaces on the shores hundreds of feet above the abandoned railroad tunnel. The clues tug Sarah into the past, but they also stir tensions in the present—because the families tied to that era are still very much a part of the town.

Whispers of corrupt customs agents, and an untouched stash of stolen valuables begins to reemerge. And when a ruby necklace linked to the old scandal is found near the same spot along the river, Sarah realizes she isn’t the only one chasing the truth.

As history collides with the present, Sarah must untangle a legacy of secrecy and complicity, pride and shame—before the past repeats itself.
